Over the last 16 months, my mind and my hands have been busy with my most ambitious art project to this day: a multimedia art installation telling the story of four generations of francophone creative women from my own family. The triptych, done in an array of techniques and media, was to be a real artistic odyssey, the subject of a documentary. And it all unfolded …in the middle of a pandemic!

Usually, inspiration strikes at the most peculiar times and places … in the middle of the night while I want to fall back to sleep … on a walk as the light makes patterns on the ground … most often, it comes as I am responding to the flow of a work in progress. I am grateful for these “a-ha” moments. But how do you insure these occurrences ? I believe that you must stimulate your mind all along in order to get inspired.
